I started working on time management today. Last night, I made a list of the 5 most important things I had to do today. I even planned out how I was going to fit those things into my day. So this morning, I got up and started working on my list.
I did get my 10,000 steps in today, and I managed to fit my stretchy band routine in while watching "Nobly, My Love" tonight. I love that I can combine non-walking routines and a little TV time! I also got 4 out of the 5 things on my list done... more or less. The problem is I don't feel like I accomplished a lot.
I am not sure if I just made my list too broad or I am still trying to cram too much into my day, but I think I feel more stressed trying to manage my time with a top five list than I do when I just have a nebulous cloud of to-do's floating around me in the air. I kept worrying about my list at work and how I wasn't working on it. And then when I was working on it, I was worrying about how I wasn't getting things done fast enough.
With a little internet research, this is what I am going to try for tomorrow:
The 1-3-5 Rule
The idea is that you have ONE big thing to do during the day, THREE moderate things, and FIVE small things. I think I can do that. At least, I can wrap my mind around this to-do list better. I'll let you know how it goes.
Today's Motivation:
The real reason I am trying to manage my time... because all I really want to do is curl up with some knitting and a good Korean dram-edy, even if it's just for a little bit.
